Who We Are
CanadaPetPicks.ca is an independent Canadian pet supply review site dedicated to helping Canadian pet owners make smarter, better-informed buying decisions. We noticed something that surprised us — despite Canada having millions of devoted pet owners and a thriving selection of homegrown pet brands, there was virtually no dedicated resource covering pet supplies from a uniquely Canadian perspective. No Canadian pricing. No honest look at what’s actually available at Pet Valu, Ren’s Pets, or Chewy Canada. No spotlight on the incredible Canadian-made brands quietly producing some of the best pet food and supplies in the world.
We built CanadaPetPicks.ca to fix that.
What We Do
We research, review, and compare pet food, treats, toys, accessories, and supplies available to Canadian pet owners. Our reviews draw on multiple trusted sources — consumer feedback, nutritional analysis, expert opinion, and publicly available data — to give you an honest, aggregated picture of each product. We cover everything from premium Canadian-made wet cat food to dog toys, winter gear, grooming supplies, and beyond.
We are not a pet store. We do not manufacture products. We are simply passionate about helping you find the best options for your pet, at Canadian prices, from Canadian and international retailers that actually ship to your door.

How Our Reviews Work
We want to be upfront about our process. We do not personally test every product we review. Instead, we aggregate data from multiple credible sources — including consumer reviews from major retailers, independent nutritional databases, expert analysis, and verified buyer feedback — to build a comprehensive picture of each product. Where we have access to product samples or have personally tested a product, we say so clearly.
We believe this aggregated approach, done transparently, is more useful than a single opinion. A product that consistently earns high marks across hundreds of real-world Canadian pet owners tells you more than one person’s experience ever could.
How We Make Money
We want to be completely transparent about this. CanadaPetPicks.ca earns revenue in the following ways:
- Affiliate links — many product links on our site are affiliate links, meaning we earn a small commission if you purchase through them. This comes at no extra cost to you.
- Sponsored content — we occasionally feature sponsored placements from Canadian pet brands. These are always clearly disclosed.
- Direct product sales — we work with select Canadian brands on a dropship basis, allowing you to purchase directly through our site.
None of these commercial arrangements influence our editorial ratings or recommendations. We have no financial incentive to rate a product higher than it deserves, and we won’t.
A Note on Transparency
We are a small, independent Canadian operation — not a large media company with a team of dozens. We think that’s actually a strength. We answer to our readers, not to advertisers or investors. If we get something wrong, we want to know — reach out and we’ll investigate and correct it.
